Emerging from darkness
February 16th, 2013 Posted in UncategorizedLately I’ve been keeping an eye out for photo possibilities where I can take advantage of nice light.
The difference between a photo captured in nice light, and light that is harsh or flat, can be huge. Nice light can’t fix an otherwise ho-hum photo. But it can help set the stage for releasing narratives in a viewer’s mind by creating mystery and ambiguity through adjoining areas of darkness and lightness. In the end mystery and ambiguity help support the notion that interesting photos pose questions, rather than supplying answers.
