I think it’s good every once in a while to examine and question one’s own photography, and look at aspects such as subject matter, how it’s captured, processed, etc. And if it starts feeling too reflexive, to step back and try something else. That was the situation with me; and, also wanting to challenge the notion some have that “real” street photography has to be B&W, gritty, etc. I’ve never really felt that way, but it’s certainly easy to be strongly influenced by previous/other street shooters and then fall into a rut.
