I’d like to give a huge shout out and props to close friend and superb photographer, Travis Jensen. His star has been rapidly ascending over the last four or five years and he recently made the decision to strike out on his own persuing his photography on a full time basis. Leaving his excellent and secure downtown job he’s held for the last ten years was definitely a gutsy move. But, he was so involved with various commercial shoots for national brands, engaged in many personal neighborhood projects, and, with a growing backlog of future photography projects, it was a necessary move and made sense.
I’m 1000% certain he’ll do a bang up job going forward. He’s worked super hard over the years to get to this point and deserves the success that’s now coming his way.
Travis also just introduced his own line of street wear under his label Foto/Mish. Foto/Mish is a reflection of how he shoots on the street; i.e. being on a Mission where his street shooting is Focused on Truthful Outcomes. His photographs and his engagements with people he encounters on the street have always been an expression of that core belief and it’s how he lives his life. His series of street wear with some of his best San Francisco images on the front speak to that view as well. His clothing line is made up of T-shirts, hoodies, caps, and skateboard decks – all with different San Francisco images he’s made over the years. The printing and overall design is first class.
Head on over to fotomish.com to check out his line and see what it’s all about. And while you’re at it, be sure and stop by his website at travisjensenphoto.com and take a look at some of his excellent urban photography.
